Learn to Row at Lake Merced

Pacific Masters invites you to participate in a uniquely tailored Learn to Row weekend this Spring and Summer.

Our Learn to Row sessions will introduce you to adult rowing on Lake Merced within the community, commitment, and culture of PRC. Each weekend mornings Pacific coaching staff will provide appropriately paced rowing and fitness instruction to prepare you to walk on to our Novice squad. The fee for the camp is $195 and it covers weekend instruction and a follow-on two-week trial after the weekend of instruction.

Our regular morning practice sessions are from Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 6:00-7:30am. Evening sessions are offered Tuesday and Thursday evenings from 6:30-8:00pm.

Session 1: May 3 and 4th (8:00-10:30 am each morning):
Saturday will focus on the land basics such as a proper warm up, video review, body sequencing, introduction to boats and oars, and how to safely get in and out of the water. Sunday will apply all these basics with an on-the water session where everyone will have a chance to row. There will be weekday afternoon sessions available for those who want to continue to hone their skills before joining or have more evening flexibility than morning.
