Row-a-thon

The teams will soon be formed, and PRC is primed for a successful 2017  Row-A-Thon on Sunday, December 10 at the Boathouse. A few details as we gear up for the day:

Format and Schedule: 9:30 am to 3 pm

The event itself will be from 10am-3pm

Rowers are expected to arrive by 9:30am.

The coaches have planned an exciting approach to build community and broaden support for the club. They have extended outreach beyond current rowers and parents to include alumni, community partners, and supporters. Please spread the word. Athletes are expected to be at Row-a-thon all day. Parents, spectators, and learn to rowers can stop by any time from 10:00am - 3:00 to show support with the following events planned

10:00 - 10:30 PRC athletes go on the water

11:00 - 12:30 Learn to Row Session One

11:00 - 1:00 PRC Athletes Race in Mixed Boats.  The captains and coaches are planning heats with top boats advancing to a petit and grand final.  Awards will be issued for both the best themed boats (costumes encouraged) and the fastest boat.

12:00 Experienced adult rowers and alumni rowers

1:00 - 2:30 Learn to Row Session Two

2:30 Final races

There will be PRC athletes racing in events throughout the day.

Rowers will have down time, and are encouraged to bring a water bottle, homework and chair.  (Note to returning families: since it is a shorter day, coaches are not asking for tents and sleeping bags as in years past).

Learn to Row Spaces Still Available

Coaches strongly encourage parents, family members and friends to sign up for a free Learn to Row session.  It's a  great opportunity to get a real feel for the sport and our wonderful coaches. Please sign up here: Learn to Row Sign Up.

Experienced rower or alumni?

This year we will be putting together boats of experienced adult rowers and alumni. These boats will be racing against the winning PRC youth boat. Sign up here for an experienced or alumni boat and relive your rowing days!

And please remember its not too late to fundraise or donate!

We still have a long way to go to meet the coaches wish list for equipment.  Please share your rower's website with your network,  or come down and snap a picture of your rower racing to share on social media to keep the campaign moving.   Or stop by the event with a donation or donate here today: row-a-thon 2017.
